Downloadable PowerPoint Presentations
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Julius B. Richmond Center of
Excellence will offer prepared PowerPoint presentations that may be downloaded
and used by clinicians, advocates, community organizations, and educators —
anyone interested in speaking on tobacco and secondhand smoke.
Each presentation includes a slide set, speaker notes, and references. The
slides can be personalized to reflect the person presenting the slides and the
audience. These slide sets may be used freely; however, the AAP Richmond
Center should be credited with preparation of slide sets. Using the
slides with the Center's logo is sufficient for noting the slides' origin.
Individual slides from the presentations may also be extracted for use in other
presentations without permission from the AAP. If alterations are made to the
slides in the presentations, please remove the Center's logo from the slide, and
the speaker should indicate to the audience that their slides were modified from
presentations available from the AAP Richmond Center.

information (web address, phone number, services offered, languages spoken).
Addressing
Family Tobacco Use- 73 slides

can be assessed during childhood and adolescence.
CEASE-
50 slides
This presentation uses the CEASE (Clinical Effort Against Secondhand Smoke
Exposure) program to assist family members interested in quitting through a
three-step process. Also covered in this presentation are ways to implement the
CEASE program into a clinical practice. Three role play exercises are utilized
beginning on slide 39. Accompanying this presentation are video files that show
the role play scenarios participants will be engaging in. These videos will help
participants gain an understanding of ways to improve their own clinical
encounters, and should be viewed after participants engage in the role plays
themselves. Links to these files on the internet are available in the slides as
well, in the event that the video files do not upload correctly. Video
